MARILYN MONROE - How To Marry A Millionaire (1/11)

Before anyone asks i have not included the on-screen orchestra at the begining of the film whihc lasts approx. 5 minutes. It is of no relvance to the plot and contains none of the actors and actresses involved with the main film.

NOTES:
• On the plane, Pola is reading a book called "Murder By Strangulation" which is how Marilyn Monroe's character met her demise in Niagara (1953).
• This is 20th Century Fox's first CinemaScope feature, however it wasn't released until after The Robe (1953).
• One of the first films to have its score recorded in stereo.
• Before becoming a major Hollywood success, Lauren Bacall worked as a model for several years of her teenage life while auditioning for roles on Broadway. The modeling she did is exactly like that of her character Ms. Paige, showing pieces for clients.
• During filming, Betty Grable informed the studio head of Twentieth Century-Fox, Darryl F. Zanuck, that she would not commit to the remaining five years of her contract. Miss Grable then was "punished" by being demoted to second billing below Marilyn Monroe. Returning only once to Fox, Betty would star in the unspectacular How to Be Very, Very Popular (1955), a vehicle in which Marilyn had refused to appear.

Three New York models, Shatze, Pola and Loco set-up in an exclusive appartment with a plan: tired of cheap men and a lack of money they intend to use all their talents to trap and marry three millionaires. The trouble is that's it's not so easy to tell the rich men from the huxters and even when they can, is the money really worth it?
